The House of Lit does not charge a submission fee or listing fee. The House of Lit earns money only from completed ebook sales.

Your book remains yours.
The House of Lit asks only for the permission needed to assess, list and sell your ebook. There is no submission fee, listing fee or exclusive claim.
The House of Lit is a trading name of Inkwell Indie Books Ltd.
You keep your work
The author retains copyright, publishing rights and ownership of every submitted file. Nothing transfers ownership to The House of Lit.
Copyright information
The author supplies the copyright holder and first-publication year. The House of Lit may display a notice in the form © rights holder, year. All rights reserved. The notice records the information supplied by the author; it does not register copyright or guarantee ownership.
Limited non-exclusive licence
The author permits The House of Lit to store, assess, display, promote, sell and securely deliver the submitted ebook. The permission is non-exclusive, so the author may publish and sell elsewhere.
No conflicting exclusivity
The author must not offer an ebook through The House of Lit while it is bound by KDP Select, Kindle Unlimited or another agreement requiring exclusive digital distribution.
Royalties
The author earns 70% of the price paid for every completed sale. The House of Lit retains 30% and pays ordinary payment-processing costs from its share. Refunded, fraudulent or disputed transactions do not earn a royalty.
Prices
The ebook price follows The House of Lit’s published readership tiers, beginning at £1 and rising to no more than £5. Only unique completed paid purchases count towards a higher tier.
Withdrawal
An author may ask The House of Lit to stop new sales of a book. The House of Lit may retain records required for accounts, fraud prevention and legal compliance, and may continue allowing existing purchasers to retrieve a copy they already bought.
Author responsibility
The author is responsible for the accuracy of the book information and for ensuring that the text, cover, quotations and other submitted material do not infringe another person’s rights.
Before paid sales begin
These principles govern submissions during The House of Lit’s development. The final marketplace agreement will add the company number, registered office, payment timetable, tax treatment and formal withdrawal procedure before live purchasing is activated.
